Developers of this spaceport kept the location a secret for 2 years, before it became open in 1957, after two planes just followed the runway without permission. Although this spaceport was created in 1955, there wasn’t a human launch until it was fully ready in 1961, and the first spaceport is still in active use by the Russian government, after Kazakhstan leased that spaceport to them. Seeing the success that Kazakhstan has achieved with their spaceport, America went on to build a big spaceport in Florida to show their might. Other countries admired these spaceports, yet China didn’t build theirs until 2003, and it was a huge achievement for their technology.

A spaceport or a rocket site is normally built in areas where there is no human settlement, so there will be no hazard caused to those living nearby. Most spaceports are built close to big water bodies, to ensure that there are fewer components that drop on areas where humans live. To build a spaceport, you’ll need a large expanse of land, so that an explosion will not have many effects on other parts of the environment, and explosions often occur during trials.

Since the first successful launch of humans, scientists have made significant progress in creating better aircraft that suit the modern spaceports that have been developed. It takes billions of dollars and large land areas to build standard spaceports, so it’s not surprising that there are limited spaceports on earth. America has the most spaceports, and it’s proof of their strength as a nation, plus they’ve had the most successful launches since the first spaceport was created. American scientists are looking to make more launches into space.
